Another Methodist Homosexual Trial

Christian News - The Christian Post - is reporting that the third trial for a United Methodist minister began yesterday in Pennsylvania (Note: while this is the first trial for Rev. Stroud, this is the third trial by United Methodist clergy for homosexual ministers).  Rev. Irene Elizabeth Stroud has been charged with violation of the laws that prohibit the ordination of practicing homosexuals.  Interestingly, all three trials involved female pastors.

Rev. Stroud was "married" by the United Church of Christ and is currently assigned as an associate pastor in First UMC of Germantown (Philadelphia, PA).

In the other two cases, Rev. Denman of New Hampsire was removed from the pastorate in 1987.  Rev. Karen Dammann was found not guilty because of technicalities.  I don't believe she is currently appointed to a pastorate at this time, but I may be wrong.
