What a portrait of our lives! We go through life, trying to smooth things out and make sense of the chaos and just try to do our best, and about the time we get it where it looks like things are going good and we've got our life put together, duck happens.
Ducks (storms, trials, tribulations, busted dreams, broken hearts, too-short paychecks, family crises, sickness, death, all of the above) walk across the surface of our life that we just got smoothed out. But, you know what, that's okay.
Because how boring would our lives be without conflict? And what would
our lives be like without the opportunity to turn our eyes to Heaven
and cry out, "God, I can't take this any more. Fix it!" and to know
that He has just been waiting right there, trowel in hand, to smooth our
lives out and make them even better than before?
Ducks aren't just occasions to stretch your vocabulary and pull your hair out -- they're also occasions to hold hands with our Savior and let Him be Lord in our lives.
